Pain Reprocessing Therapy

What is Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)?

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is a groundbreaking, evidence-based approach for treating chronic pain, anxiety, and other persistent symptoms that may be rooted in the brain and nervous system rather than structural damage or disease.

Our brains are powerful. When they become conditioned to expect pain or threat—often due to past injury, trauma, or prolonged stress—they can continue to send alarm signals even when there’s no ongoing danger. This can show up as chronic pain, anxiety, fatigue, digestive issues, or other mind-body symptoms that persist despite normal test results or traditional treatments.

PRT helps individuals recognize these symptoms as learned, reversible neural patterns—false alarms that can be calmed and re-trained. Through gentle education, guided awareness, and a technique called somatic tracking (observing sensations with curiosity and safety), clients learn to soothe their nervous systems and shift their relationship with pain and fear.

This approach is rooted in neuroscience and has shown remarkable success in reducing or eliminating chronic symptoms. It’s especially effective for those who feel like they’ve “tried everything” and are ready for a new way forward—one that offers hope, empowerment, and lasting relief.
